Bettia was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Since she was a child, Bettia had always taken herself away to lands of imagination and loved writing about them. Her first inspiration came from Eugene Poinc, a family friend whom she called, Uncle Gene, who was an author, magician and palm reader. To get away from home during the summer when she was twelve years old, Bettia spent three days a week visiting Uncle Gene and his aging mother, Marie doing small errands around the house for them and spending time with them. Uncle Gene would always encourage Bettia's imagination and urged her to journal her stories and thoughts. Never before had she done that and this created the inner voice she had never known was there. At thirteen, writing her first book about her love of horses (unpublished) and inspired by The Black Stallion movie, Bettia discovered the things she had come to love in life, took her away from the sorrows in her real life and it became a not only therapeutic source, but an adventure. Since then, she has written poetry, song lyrics, became a published columnist, published her first family cook book and is currently working on her first novel and second family cookbook to be published later in 2017. Thank you for joining in sharing in this beautiful, disastrous adventure we call "Life", Bettia's hope, is that all she shares will touch you, inspire you, make you laugh, cry, feel alive and hopefully reach into the depths of your soul.
